Age 81 of Westland, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Garden City Hospital.

Alfred was born in Dearborn, Michigan to George and Hermina (Nee Blankertz) Hoffman.

He served his country from 1953-1957, in the US Army as an M.P. He met his wife, Toshiko (nee Higashihama) in Okinawa and they were married in 1957. Alfred was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and camping, but most of all, he loved his family.

Alfred is survived by his loving children: Loving father of Jun (Sue) Higashihama, Teddy (Julie) Hoffman, Terry (Alan) Tipton and Tammy (Tim) Hoffman. Dearest grandfather of Tisa, Yuki, Kenji, Kiyomi, Hanna, Adam, Zak. Nick, Amanda and Meghan and several great grandchildren. Dearest brother of Steve (Rose) HoffmanAlso nieces and nephews.

He was preceaded in death by his parents, sister Lela Palmer, and his beloved wife, Toshiko.

Visitation Sunday 2-8pm. Funeral Service Monday 11:30am at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Road, Garden City. (Between Ford Road and Cherry Hill.)
