On Monday, Oct 3, Alfred Joseph Wood, a loving father passed away. He was ninety-three.  A true patriot and citizen of character. Alfred, a decorated veteran, served in the United States Marine Corps in the rank of Staff Sergeant during the Korean war from 1947-1951.  Shortly after leaving the USMC, Alfred joined General Motors in their Cadillac division where he worked as an executive in the purchasing and salvage department, retiring in 1987.

Alfred loved to travel, read, and listen to music.  He had an amazing power of recall and could entertain friends and family for hours with historical facts, information and interesting quips.  Alfred is survived by his children, Daniel R. Wood, Anne M. Wood, Alfred J. Wood Jr, Mary K. Thompson, and Patrick J. Wood and his brother Jim Wood.

He was preceded in death by his best friend and beloved wife, Anna M. Wood and his children, Maureen A. Wood and Kevin J. Wood and his brother Jack and sister Mary.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 28 ^th , 10:00 am at the Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn.
