IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice
Demoss
September 9, 1941 – September 24, 2021
Age 80
Our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Alice Anne DeMoss passed away far too soon on September 24th. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Gary DeMoss, her parents, Justine and Marcel Tymke, Brother Edward Tymke (Uncle Eddie) and Sister Dolores Jaskowski (Aunt Dee). She leaves behind her children Gregory (Lesli), Deborah (Jim Denison), Douglas (Kim) and Elizabeth (Richard "Butch" Rowe). Alice had 7 Grandchildren; Michael, Jonathan, Aimee, Chris, Madeline, Jackie, and Justin, and 6 Great-Grandchildren; Garrett, Brandon, Ella, Avery, Lily, and Tristan. Ella called her "Grandma Yes" because she always said yes, no matter the request. She loved her family with all her heart.
Alice grew up in Berea, Ohio where, as a girl, she would pick beans with her brother and sister for the local farm, clean houses, babysit and attend Mass at St. Adelbert's church where in 1959, luckily for the dozen people mentioned above, she would marry Gary. She was a good bowler and enjoyed a good game of pinochle. She could sew anything and could type 60 words a minute (on a manual typewriter to boot). She loved a good romance novel and was a big fan of scary movies and television shows. Her children will never forget her favorite catch phrases like, "That's the kind of hairpin I am", "Bippy ", and a few Polish expletives we won't repeat here. How she could easily get them out of the bathtub with scare tactics, like, "You're going to go down the drain!" And how she would keep her kids in line with her trademark stomp to the kitchen to noisily slide open the drawer where the wooden spoons or spatulas were kept. Alice had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and was a beautiful lady.
We will miss her forever.
Memorials suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
