Obituary

Andrew Thurman Howard was born on March 5th, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Andrew Howard and Willie Thurman.  He was the second of two children born to this union.  In 1985 his parents and sister, Freda Wyatt, preceded him in death.

Andrew resided with his family in Inkster, Michigan.  Andrew was educated through the Inkster Public Schools and received his high school diploma in 1959 from Inkster High School. He earned his high school letter by his athletic skills with the Inkster High School track team.  After graduation Andrew was employed with several companies and ended up in the Furniture Repair business doing upholstery and furniture refinishing. He worked for Dobbs Furniture, Montgomery Wards, and Art Van Furniture.  He retired from Art Van Furniture as a Master Furniture Finisher.

On February 12, 1972 Andrew married his beloved wife, Brenda Freeman. They were happily married 53 years. This union was blessed to have 2 sons join them in their lives, Darwin Frank Howard and Jason Jeremy Howard (who preceded him in death). He was a devoted Father to his sons and a loving and devoted Christian husband to his wife. Brenda and Andrew spent many years together enjoying the work of preaching the good news, assisting others to learn about Bible truths. They were a great team.

Andrew was a "Jack of all trades", which was applied in his home.  He learned to lay concrete from his Grandfather and used that skill in assisting with Kingdom Hall construction projects. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding and camping with his family.

Andrew was introduced to Jehovah's Witnesses when his sister, Freda Wyatt was studying with Sister Katie Steele and Sister Juanita (Norton) Adams.  He dedicated his life to Jehovah God which he symbolized by water baptism on July 28, 1962. Andrew was devoted to preaching the Good News by which he aided many to come to know and dedicate their lives to Jehovah God. He served in several congregations as a Presiding Elder during his 59 years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

After several years in long-term rehabilitation care, Andrew's life came to an end on November 26, 2025.  He looked faithfully to the promise of a resurrection [John 6:40] to everlasting life in Jehovah God's Earthly New Paradise [Isaiah 65:21-25] which Jehovah God has promised to His faithful servants. At that time he will be reunited with his loved ones and vast spiritual family again.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda, 1 son, Darwin Frank Howard (Kim) and 1 Sister-in-Law, Olinda Ann Robinson (Jimmy) 2 Grandsons, Jason Jeremy Howard Jr (Charli) and Zachary Scott Howard (Miranda); 2 Granddaughters, Paris J.
