Anna Emily Crudo (nee: Centi) , age 85, fell asleep in Jesus at her winter home in Naples, Florida on Thursday, March 28, 2019surrounded by her family. Anna was born on July 30, 1933 in the village of Picenze in the Abruzzo region of Central Italy.To Giagento and Angelina(nee: Calvisi) Centi. Sheimmigrated to the United States with her parents, sister and brother in 1946 settling on Bingham Street in East Dearborn. Friends from the neighborhood and school helped her to learn the English language and many of them are friends of hers to this day.Anna attended Fordson High School and graduated class of 1954.In April 1955, she married Rocco Crudo, himself an immigrant from the Calabria region of Southern Italy. They settled in South Dearborn Heights and lived, laughed and loved there for 40 years. Together they had three children. Annawas an active member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church and School.In the mid-80's, Anna and Rocco became snowbirds, traveling to Naples in Southwest Florida during the winter months.Anna's interest and hobbies always involvedfamily and friends. She loved totravel, play cards and was a competitive Bocce Ball player often winning the annual women's tournament at the Fairways Community in Naples, Florida. She was larger than life and anybody that knows her has a story and that story involves laughter. Anna and her husband, Rocco maintained respect for the culture and values instilled in them by their parents from the old country while reaching for the American dream.
Beloved wife of 64 years of Rocco Crudo. Loving mother of daughters, Antonetta (James) Marano and Linda (Chris) Sutherland, and son Danny Joseph Crudo. Cherished grandmother of Michael Marano. She also leaves behind three generations of nieces and nephews and hundreds of friends, many of which were like family to her.
Anna's Funeral will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Instate 9:30 am at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 4855 Parker Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48125 until the time of Mass at 10:00 am. There will be a procession to St. Hedwig Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.
