Obituary

Anthony J. Frassetto "Tony" also lovingly known as Poppy. Age 75. Tony passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Carol Frassetto and Dawn Frassetto. Loving father of Jennifer (David) Craig. Cherished grandpa of Julian Anthony (Stephanie) Holloway. Dearest son of the late Hugo and Aurora Frassetto. Dear brother of Larry (Linda) Frassetto, Linda (Steve) Frassetto-Young and the late Danny Frassetto. Uncle of Paul Angelo, Paul Richard II, Mikey and Megan.

Tony was born on August 28, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to Hugo and Aurora Frassetto. He had three siblings; Larry, Linda and Danny. Upon graduating high school Tony pursued his dreams by attending Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. Only four short days after obtaining his degree, he was drafted to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Tony took his portfolio with him to Washington. It was there his talent was recognized by his superiors. He was then sent to Alexandria, Virginia to work as a cartoonist for the Pentagon. After serving his country, he made his way back to Michigan. He was hired as a Designer at Ford Motor Company. There he had a very successful career as a car designer. His designs were used in many areas, more specifically the interior of the Lincoln Mark VIII. Tony was very dedicated to his art. He enjoyed drawing and painting. If there was a sketchbook or a piece of paper nearby Tony could be found doodling cars. Not only did he have amazing skills as an artist, he was a quite talented musician. He could play piano, guitar, accordion and harmonica. Tony's favorite getaway spot was Harsens Island. He made many visits to Harsens Island with his sister, Linda and her husband, Steve. Tony loved going on boat rides around the island and watching the freighters pass. Another one of Tony's favorite pastimes, at Harsens Island was swimming in Muscamoot Bay. When Tony wasn't spending time with his family or doodling he could be found riding his bicycle around his home in Dearborn or listening to music, especially Billy Joel. Tony had many special places in his heart for his family, his art and his music. However, the most special place belonged to his grandson, Julian. Tony's world revolved around Julian. The daily visits and phone calls meant the world to him. Tony and Julian shared an unbreakable bond.
