Beatrice Cecilia Cousino (nee: Barton) age 97 of Dearborn passed away on Wednesday, October 23, in Beaumont Commons surrounded by her family.
Beatrice was born in South Rockwood, MI to Edward and Anna Barton on November 16, 1921. In the 1940's she graduated from South Rockwood High School and married Bernard Aloysius Cousino at St. Mary of the Announciation in Rockwood. Unfortunately, Bernard passed away in April of 1960.
Raising ten children kept Beatrice busy. She managed to do a good job of caring for them and keeping a neat home. Through the years she worked at different jobs such as lunch mom, in retail at Nassar's and in the Dietary Department in Annapolis Hospital. She faithfully attended both regular religious services and devotions at Sacred Heart Church in Dearborn and later at Divine Child as well as being involved in some of their outreach programs.
Beloved wife of the late Bernard. Dear mother of Sr. Diann Cousino I.H.M., Barbara (John) Rutz, Bernard (June), Mary (Jack) Pio, Rosellen (Rene) Crombez, Vincent, Joan (Steven) Griffen, Anne (James) O'Dell, Suzanne (Peter) Mack, and the late Joseph. Grandmother of 27. Great grandmother of 39. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Anna Barton and her siblings, Jacob Barton, Donald Barton, Fr. Ralph Barton, Harold (Helen) Barton Sr., Mariella I.H.M., Aubrey (Evelyn) Barton and Rowena (Donald) Fix. Also predeceased by her husband's siblings, Angela (Charles) Meyer, Areta (Carl) Schuster, Ceil (Jerry) Meiden, Marion (Sig) Kresbach, Manuel (Martha) Cousino and Adelmar Cousino.
Visitation Tuesday 2 pm – 8 pm with 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., Garden City (Between Ford Rd. and Cherry Hill). In state Wednesday 9:00 am until the 10 am Funeral Service at Church of the Divine Child, 1055 N. Silvery Lane at Wilson in Dearborn.
Beatrice's children want to thank the staff at Beaumont Commons, formerly Oakwood Commons, for all the efford the staff put forth in caring for their mom, often with much love and concern for her.
They are especially grateful for the added help and attention Beatrice received this last month through Angela Hospice health care providers.
