Obituary

Bette Ann Mys (nee Wrixon), 85, of Dearborn, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 12th, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents, Morgan Reginald and Catherine Jane Wrixon, and her only sibling, Beverly Jean Ennis. She was the loving wife of Donald for 59½ years and a loving mother to Susan Kay Mys of Canton, Michigan, and Amy Jean (Benjamin) Harvey of Naperville, IL. Bette was also the grandmother to Andrew Morgan, Catherine Anne, and Lauren Elizabeth Harvey.
Bette's areas of expertise were wide and varied. She loved life and worked many years as a teacher/consultant for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She was a dorm mom and teacher to Stevie Wonder, sold real estate, had a fellowship at Boston College, and was the first teacher for Head Start. She loved to knit and sew and was gifted in calligraphy. She also edited three publications and was actively writing her fourth publication. She found much joy in helping others and was a very loving and thoughtful soul.
Bette and Don spent many cold winters at their Florida residence and enjoyed their "Florida Family." She enjoyed her many friends and had friends from grade school, church, work, and other sources. Bette touched the lives of her family and many others with her open hand and loving heart. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the music program at the First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn.
