IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Taras
Cytacki
May 17, 1934 – July 2, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Beverly Taras Cytacki, who peacefully departed this life at the age of 91. Beverly was a remarkable woman whose unwavering love, compassion, and strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Beverly lived a life defined by unconditional love and perseverance. She was always willing to lend an ear, offering wisdom, patience, and a comforting presence. Her life was a shining example of quiet strength and persistence—qualities that inspired everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Beverly is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Setter, Nancy Snyder, Laura Taras Lander (Scott) and her son Gregory Taras. Her grandchildren, Kevin Taras (Lisa), Emma Lander, Benjamin Lander and Jessica Setter, her great-grandchildren, Kaden and Hayley Taras, and many nieces and nephews.
Though legally blind, Beverly never let her vision define her limitations. Her resilience and determination shone brightly as she continued to sew, craft, and create with remarkable skill and love. She was an avid seamstress who delighted in making dresses for her granddaughters and great-granddaughter, each one a gift from her hands and heart.
Her creativity extended into the kitchen, where she taught cake decorating and ran a successful business designing elegant wedding and special occasion cakes. In one unforgettable act of devotion, she even carried her daughter's wedding cake on a plane to New York City—an act that spoke volumes of her love and dedication.
Beverly also took great pride in her garden, nurturing it with the same care and joy that she gave to those around her. She found peace and purpose in her crafts, and her home was a reflection of her artistry, warmth, and spirit.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her love, her lessons, and her incredible example of resilience and grace. She will be profoundly missed, but her memory will remain forever vibrant in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly's memory to the National Federation of the Blind Michigan , an organization that supports independence and opportunity for those living with vision loss.
You may also honor Beverly's spirit by planting something in her memory, lending a listening ear to someone in need, or performing a simple act of kindness, just as she so often did.
