Age 89.

Carol Ann Fron passed away peacefully on April 24th at her home in Marietta, Georgia. After her husband, Ed passed away in 2016, Carol relocated to Georgia to be close to her family and they were at her side during her last days.

Born in Detroit, to Lucille and Edward Weiss, Carol grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1954 she was crowned the first Miss Dearborn, then known as Miss Clean-up Fix-up Paint-up Dearborn. That same year, at the age of 18, Carol married Edward Stephen Fron at Sacred Heart Church. They were married 62 years. Carol and Ed raised their family in Dearborn Heights, Michigan where they were active parishioners at the Church of the Divine Child. It is impossible to estimate the number of baton competitions, sporting events and performances Carol attended to cheer on her daughters and grandchildren. No trip for practices or lessons was too far away. Always the shopper, Carol enjoyed a vibrant career as a sales associate at Lord & Taylor. Upon retirement, Ed and Carol's lives took a new turn and they moved to St. Pete Beach, Florida. Tennis, golf, international travel and conversations by the pool became their favorite pastimes. Carol and Ed loved the water and relished sharing their Florida home with family and friends. Carol enjoyed 28 years of morning views from her kitchen window over the bay. Carol embraced many life-long friendships and had a special talent for welcoming new friends. Her impeccably written red and green Christmas cards were a treat for anyone who received them. Carol chaired her condominium's social committee and wrote the social column in her community's newsletter for many years. She loved anything Disney, the art of Edna Hibel, old movies, collectibles, scrapbooking, and going out to dinner. Wherever she went, Carol was known for her snappy comments, bright lipsticks, and sense of style.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughters Gayle Sherlag (Paul), Susan Fron, Andrea Fron (Marylou Jansen), and her grandchildren Andrea Sherlag (Andrew Disner) and Anthony Sherlag (Natalie), her brother, Carl Weiss, nieces and nephews.
