Obituary

Age 95

Beloved wife of Frank. Dear mother of Gregory (Florence), Valerie (Paul) Michel, Gerard (Jacqui), Kathleen (Celestino) Mangulabnan, and Christopher (Marsha). Loving grandmother of Rebecca (Thomas), Jessica (Mark), Erica, Matthew, Valerie (Mike), Ryan, Rachel, Michael, and Maria. Great grandmother of Abbie, Wes, Aiden, Lilia, and Oliver.

Celine was born on January 13,1929 to Walter and Valeria Jablonski (Jabłoński in Polish).  She was born and raised in a Polish neighborhood in Southwest Detroit near Junction and Michigan Avenue.  She was proud of her Polish heritage.  Her father immigrated from modern day Rajmondów, Poland and her mother was a first generation Polish American.  She is preceded in death by her siblings, Henry, Edna, Leona, Leonard and Tommy.  The family were members of St. Francis D'Assisi parish where she attended grade school.  In January, 1947, Celine graduated from Western High School and attended the University of Detroit. She worked as a secretary at both Chrysler and Ford Motor Company.  She was a very proficient typist and Gregg shorthand stenographer.

Celine met the love of her life, Frank, at the Graystone Ballroom located on Woodward Avenue.  They were married on October 18,1958 and they enjoyed more than 65 years of love and happiness together.

She loved music and dance and was an accomplished dancer.  Polka, Ballroom and Country Line Dancing were her specialties.  She enjoyed teaching her friends and family the latest line dances. They danced in competitions in the Toledo and Metro-Detroit area.  They attended all the local church festivals and danced to the music of Big Daddy, Duane Malinowski, and the WACO Band.  They lived part-time in Frankenmuth so that they could enjoy all the music and dance festivals sponsored by the Bavarian Inn and Zehnders.  They loved to dance to their favorite band, The Linda Lee Band, at the Bavarian Inn's Fischer Platz.  They were members of the Dearborn Heights Moose, Polka Boosters and the Fairlane Ballroom Dance Club.  Celine looked forward to the weekly dances at the Moose and enjoyed the dinner dance parties at the Ballroom Club.  For her 95th birthday celebration, she danced the Birthday Line Dance at the Moose.

She loved God and her Catholic faith.  She was a parishioner at St. Mel's, St. Robert Bellarmine and Divine Child.  She frequently prayed at the adoration chapel and every Tuesday night, prayed the Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Divine Child.
