Charles Raymond Bennett, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024. Born on June 14, 1929 to Carl and Rose Bennett, he was a lifelong resident of Garden City, Michigan until recently where he resided in New Boston, Michigan with his daughter Denise.

‍In 1952, he married his beloved wife, Jean Vernet Hummel in a beautiful ceremony at The Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Detroit. Together, they raised five children: Mark (Michelle), Maureen, Dennis (Marja), Denise (Peter), Kathleen (John). He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

‍Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Norman, daughter Maureen, sister Betty Copeland and son-in-law Peter Marrocco.

His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his children Mark, Dennis, Denise and Kathleen, ten grandchildren; Christopher, Erin, Christina, Maria, Nicholas, Daniel, Jennifer, Jessica, John and Mark; and eleven great-grandchildren; Mason, Wyatt, Oliver, Naia, Blakely, Grace, Charlotte, Bonnie, Isabelle, Remington and Evie; his sisters Janice, Judy, Shirley; and many nieces and nephews.

Charles joined the Army in 1951 where he proudly served his country until 1953.

‍A service to celebrate Charles's life will be held at the John N. Santeiu and Son Funeral Home, located at 1139 Inkster Rd, Garden City, MI 48135.on Sunday March 3, 2024.  Viewing will be from 2:00-6:00 PM with 1:00-2:00 PM being reserved for the family. A funeral service will be on Monday March 4, 2024. at 11:30 AM. Following the service, he will be will be laid to rest at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI.
