Charles W. Myers, age 92, of Garden City, Michigan, died at home on June 7, 2014 from a spinal cord tumor with multiple secondary complications. He was a native son of Horsepen, Virginia.
Charles was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Szasz, of over 60 years. He is survived by his loving daughters, Betty Myers (John Duggan), Sharon Myers Shaw (Darby Shaw) and Susan Myers Probert (Craig Hoitash) as well as grandsons Christopher Neal Probert and Alexander Charles Probert. Surviving siblings include his brother Bill (Marie) and Bob (Lois) Myers and sisters Rose (Sidney) Hendrick and Vivian Comer (Edward Junior).
Woodrow was a Christian man with a deep belief in God's word. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a sharpshooter. Charlie retired from the Ford Motor Company, Rouge Plant, after nearly 35 years of service as a final assembly repairman. He enjoyed collecting pocket knives for many decades and was a founding member of the Wolverine Knife Collectors Club.
Charles loved the natural world around us and all of God's creatures in it. Although gone, his legacy will live on and he will always be remembered.
Visitation Tuesday 2-9pm with funeral services Wednesday 1pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City, MI.
