Chester 'Chet' Stanley Goralewski Age 91

Born, Celestine Rizard Goralewski 17 July 1923. Died 08 April 2015 both in Detroit Michigan.

Attended Our Lady Queen of Angels school, was a CCC (Conservation Core) worker in The Upper Peninsula as a teen.
U.S. Army PFC 35th Infantry Division 137th Regiment Company C, as a BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) operator serving in battle from Omaha Beach to the end of the war near Berlin, 1944-'45. Received the French Legion of Honor medal, Bronze Star, Good Conduct and Infantry medals, among others. Chester was a member of Truman's Honor Guard at the end of the war. Worked at General Box Company, Detroit for 46 years before retiring in 1988. Leaving two adult children, Carolyn Grover and Daniel Goralewski along with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Beloved father, devoted husband and friend to all. A man of true honor who will be missed.

Visitation Monday April 13th 2-8 pm with a 6::30 p.m. American Legion service with the Funeral Service Tuesday April 14th at 11:30 a.m. at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City(Between Ford Rd.& Cherry Hill). Burial will take place with military honors at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. www.santeiufuneralhome.com
