IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Costel
Manolescu
February 11, 1941 – July 14, 2025
Costel Manolescu, also known as Titi Manolescu, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Dearborn, Michigan on July 14, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1941, in Bucharest, Romania as the youngest of 5 siblings to Blanka and Constantin Manolescu. The family survived World War II and later the communist persecution. Costel eventually immigrated to the United States at the age of 49 with his wife and children, a place where he has been abundantly blessed by God.
Costel loved Jesus with all his heart and used the musical gifts entrusted to him by God to serve Him in church. He directed the church choir for over five decades, both here in the US and in Romania. His passion was always to worship the Lord and tell people about his precious Savior through song. He loved his church, which was like his second home, rarely missing any services. He enjoyed playing and teaching piano and violin, and often put together musical accompaniments for the orchestra, band and choir to perform songs together during church services. Though his earthly ministry has ended, the music of his life lives on - in every note he taught and every heart his music touched.
Costel leaves behind his beloved wife, Aurelia, his children, Claudia (Sorin) Cojocneanu, Cristiana (Cristian) Damboiu, Daniela, Denisa (Seth) Lacy, and Constantin; eight grandchildren and one on the way, Jason Cojocneanu, Sarah Cojocneanu (Dominic Fiorini), Emily (Brett) Mackay, James, Andrew, Dorian, Michael and Edward Damboiu.
Costel loved his family with a devotion and serving heart rarely found. He will be deeply, deeply missed, far beyond what words can express.
