Obituary

Craig Raymond Kroll, 70, beloved husband of Ruth. Loving father of Sarah (Corey) Houston, and Katie. Cherished Grandfather, also known as "Papo" of Quinn Houston.

Craig was a "family man" in every sense of the word. He was so proud of his family, and they were the center of his life at all times. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of almost 40 years, Ruth Kroll, and a loving father to his two daughters, Sarah Houston and Katie Kroll. He was a wonderful father-in-law to Corey Houston, and the best and most fun "Papo" to his grandson Quinn Houston.

He was no stranger to hard work, and worked hard every day to make certain his family wanted for nothing.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army in which he served his Country in Vietnam. Right after his service ended, he started working at Jacobson's in Dearborn, and then worked as a truck driver for DHL, previously Airborne Express, for almost 40 years before retiring in 2012. He then helped with the family business by continuing to drive and deliver...flowers this time, for his wife Ruth's flower shop Fisher's Flowers in Dearborn. He and Ruth were able to spend hours together there and grab the occasional lunch.

He loved cars! From a young age he would purchase cars and fix them up. The love of cars as well as trains, he passed on to his grandson Quinn.
Craig was bigger than life with a wonderful sense of humor! Family get-togethers and holidays were what he enjoyed most. You could find Craig manning the barbeque in the backyard while chatting with his family on a nice Summer day. He loved short trips up to Frankenmuth with his wife Ruth and daughters, with a quick trip over to Tony's Restaurant for breakfast for their famous pound of bacon.
Craig was very handy, and could fix anything. He would stop whatever he was doing to help repair a leaky faucet, install a light, or put up new blinds.

Fred Rogers once quoted, "Look for the helpers". Craig was a helper. He was an example of what every husband, father, and friend should be.
Even during his battle with cancer, he was always concerned about everyone else. He fought a long and valiant battle to the end, like the true hero he was, and made his final march to his heavenly home into the arms of his Lord and Savior.
