Cynthia Ann Burke, 66, of Dearborn, passed away February 1, 2023 in her favorite place, Ludington. She was vacationing with David, her spouse of 44 years, to celebrate their wedding anniversary and her upcoming 67th birthday. While her death was unexpected, she went quickly to be with the Lord.
Cyndi and Dave married in 1979, in Dearborn where they raised two wonderful children. She is survived by her husband Dave and their children, Patrick (Adrienne) Burke and Lucy (Brian) DePorre. She was also a cherished Grammy to Dorothy, Eloise, and Margaret.
She worked at the post office for 33 years, opting for early retirement at age 52. Post-retirement brought many trips to her second home in Ludington, MI with family and friends. She loved playing, and winning, games with all. Her Scrabble, Yahtzee and poker skills were unmatched.
Cyndi was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family, always going an extra step to ensure those around her were happy. She was blessed to become a Grammy 8.5 years ago and has devoted her time since to her family. She was regularly in the kitchen, cooking an amazing meal or working on crafts with her grandkids.
She enjoyed sunsets and being on the water with Dave. They were often found sailing on Lake Erie or cruising Lake Hamlin on their pontoon boat. If you were fortunate, you may have heard her calling out to the eagle there - CA CAW!
Cyndi was loved by all she met. Her easy smile was infectious. She brought happiness everywhere she went and had a joyous outlook on life. She will be deeply missed but we are grateful for the time we had with her.

There will be a Memorial Gathering for family and friends at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home on Friday February 10, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday February 11, 2023 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Instate will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass at 10:00 a.m.
