IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia Lane
Starr Roberts
December 10, 1949 – April 30, 2023
Cynthia Lane Starr Roberts, age 73 of Dimondale MI, formerly of Neosho MO, passed away Sunday April 30 th , 2023 at Hospice House of mid-Michigan in Lansing, surrounded by family and love.
She was a miracle baby, having been born at 3 lbs ½ oz on December 10 th, 1949 in Big Spring, Texas to Drewie and Aurelia Williams Lane. She was later raised by Aurelia and "Big Daddy" William Sly in Dearborn MI, and she graduated from Henry Ford Community College as a registered nurse. She was a faithful and loving wife to Richard A. Starr (deceased), with whom she lived in Canton, MI for 21 years, where they had three children; Richard, Christine, and Patricia. During those years, she worked at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn MI as a registered psychiatric nurse.
She found love again and was married to George W. Roberts (deceased) of Neosho, MO, where they lived for 27 years. During that time, she worked as a nurse for Freeman Hospital and Oxford Home Health Care in Joplin, MO where she retired as Director of nurses. Her dedication to nursing was so strong that she maintained her nursing license years after she had retired "because that's part of who I am."
Cynthia loved astronomy and science fiction. She enjoyed watching Star Trek and Star Wars equally, never seeing a need to choose between them, because she was awesome like that!
She was raised a Baptist, and some of her most fond memories as a girl were studying the bible with her great-grandmother, "Little Mama" and her grandmother Vela. She believed in kindness and caring, always helping anyone she could. Anyone who met Cynthia knew her as an angel on earth; a characterization with which she would humbly disagree, and yet she would continue to strengthen suspicions of her heavenly nature with her selfless love.
Cynthia is survived by three children: Richard (Cynthia) A. Starr II, Christine Starr Coseo, Patricia J. Starr; Five grandchildren: Nicklaus M. Coseo, Madison J. Starr Wilson, Ty J. Coseo, Aurelia M. Starr, and Libelle I. Starr; Beloved sister of Jim Lane and Brenda Pruden (deceased), and she is also survived by a vast close and extended family who love her and will miss her so very much. To know Cynthia was to love her.
