David Raymond Carroll. Age 70. David passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Loving Dad of Bradley (Nicole) Carroll. Cherished Grandpa of Sophia. Beloved Son of Virginia and the late Gerald Carroll. Dearest Brother of Nancy (Bill) Tebelman, Diane (Mike) Wszola and Mike (Maryann) Carroll. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Dave was born and raised in Dearborn, MI. He always shared fond memories of his youth which included summers at Camp Dearborn and all the shenanigans he and the neighborhood kids would get into back in the day. Dave attended Saint Martha's & Sacred Heart High School. During his high school years and beyond he played baseball, earning himself the nickname "Diamond Dog", which was still referenced by his closest friends all these years. He was a proud Western Michigan University alumnus and enjoyed supporting and cheering on the Broncos. Dave pursued his degree in banking, landing him a job with Comerica Bank, where he worked for over 30 years until retirement. He was extremely proud of this and always talked fondly of his time with Comerica & working in Downtown Detroit. Anyone that knew Dave well understood his love for Detroit sports. This was always a topic of conversation when visiting with Dave and sharing memories of the past. He often would tease his son Brad, saying that "he" was able to witness the Lions last championship in 1957...

Dave's later years in life brought new challenges after being diagnosed with MS. He remained strong, brave, and humble up until his last days here on earth. The strength of character he emanated was an example for everyone around him. He also met his "angel" in 2018, becoming a grandpa to Sophia, this was a proud moment for him.

To quote Dave's favorite band, "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make". The family and friends that he cherished have been gifted an unending amount of love.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home. Instate 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Michigan 48124 until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.
