David Richard Modovsky, 55, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at Garden City Hospital.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Kari; his devoted parents, Dennis and Sandra (Vick) Modovsky; his cherished children, Dakota and Hailey Modovsky; his sister, Jeanine (Pat) Moran; Nephews Colin and Kyle Moran and his faithful dog, Ted. He was preceded in death by his stepson Brandon Gelderbloom.

David was born in Wayne, Michigan, at Annapolis Hospital to his loving parents, Sandra and Dennis Modovsky. As the younger of two children, David showed determination and courage from an early age—famously riding a bike without training wheels by the age of two. At just five years old, David overcame stage 4 brain cancer, becoming a true miracle and blessing to all who knew him. David lived his life as a hardworking man with a gentle soul. He was known for his strength, resilience, and kind heart. David had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed his favorite hobby of collecting and appreciating firearms.

Cremation has taken place privately.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.
