Obituary

Age 71.

Denise was born on December 8, 1952 to Charles and Mary Kay Drummond in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She would become the older sister to four younger siblings over the years.  The family would move frequently due to Charles's job but Denise made friends wherever they were.  The family finally settled in Dearborn, MI and in 1967 Denise met the love of her life, Mark Santeiu.  Mark and Denise married in 1973 and made their home in Canton, MI.

They went on to have three children over the next several years; Amy, James and Chris.  Denise was a loving mother and the Santeiu home was always full of friends and family.  She made sure everyone felt welcome and always stocked the kitchen with the kid's favorite snacks and food.

One of her favorite roles came in 1999 with the birth of her first grandchild, Chloe.  Over the next 21 years she would welcome 6 more grandchildren loving and spoiling each one as they came.  Denise always said she was a child at heart and would often be found playing whatever the grandkids wanted to play.  She made sure to attend their sporting events, dance recitals and school performances whenever she could.

Denise was an artist creating many different masterpieces in many different mediums.  She loved to paint, crochet, make jewelry and much more.  If you have one of her works of art, you know how brilliant she was.

Denise also had a passion for genealogy and researched her family tree back to the 1200's.  Her knowledge of people and places was astonishing.  She was able to travel to Scotland and Nova Scotia in the last several years to visit some of the places her ancestors lived.

Beloved wife of over 50 years to Mark. Adoring mother of Amy, James (Lauren), and Chris. Loving Nana of Chloe, Lily, Jack, Avery, Annika, Camden and Brody. Sister of Brian (Martha) Drummond, Chuck (Lisa) Drummond, Diana (Jim) Nelson, and the late Nancy Brooks
