Dennis Reed is survived by his daughters Tracy (Dave) McPherson and Mandy Reed; his grandchildren Josh, Mikey, and Megan; his sister Roberta (John) Funchion and brother Richard (Lynne) Reed. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Marcella, and his brother Gerald. He was a loving Son, Brother, Dad, Grampa, Uncle, and Friend and will be greatly missed by many.

Dennis (Denny) was born and raised in Garden City and lived there most of his life, graduating from Garden City High School in 1964. He was drafted into the army in 1966 and served in Germany during the Vietnam war. He worked for Detroit Diesel/General Motors and retired in 2000.

In addition to taking pride in his job, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and spending time with long-time close friends in St. Helen. He was a big Bob Dylan fan and often reminded us that you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

He was a loving and supportive Dad and Grampa. He was Josh and Mikey's babysitter, and then chauffeur when they got older. His grand-dog Teddy will miss him and the many potato chips snuck to him under the table.

Dennis will be remembered as a hardworking, loving, supportive, quick-witted, clever, and straightforward man.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday August 21, 2021, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home (1139 Inkster Rd, Garden City, MI 48135) to share stories and remember him. In true Denny fashion, Levi's are welcome as that's what he'd be wearing too.
