Dolores Dowd (Dolly D)

Dolores Dowd, born August 9, 1937, in Detroit, MI, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024. She married her beloved husband, Earl (Big E), on September 5, 1959, and together, they cherished over six decades of marriage.

Her loving children survive Dolores: Earl Dowd, Gary (Gina) Dowd, Patrick (Debbie) Dowd, and Mark (Kellie) Dowd. She was a devoted grandmother to Austin (Sara), Aaron (Natalie), Jacob, Devin, Brendan, and Josie, who were the light of her life. She was thrilled to have two great-grandchildren on the way.

Dolores was a vibrant soul, deeply passionate about her hobbies. Her love for sewing, crafting, traveling, and cooking was infectious, and her fish fryer was a source of joy at countless gatherings. Her dedication to St. Thomas the Apostle Parish (St. Raphael Church) was unwavering, where she served as an usher, embodying her faith through service and kindness to others.

Dolores was a force of nature, instilling her unique traits into her children and grandchildren. Her ability to find humor in the most difficult situations, her unwavering strength, and her straightforwardness were all qualities her family admired. These traits will continue to shape her family for generations to come.

Dolores leaves a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family and community. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
