Obituary

Mr. Douglas N. Wright, age 90, of Bell Buckle, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at his home under the loving care and comfort of his family and Hospice Compassus.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9 at Santeiu & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Michigan.  Burial will be after the ceremony.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. before the ceremony.

Doug was born June 4, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Willis and Marie Ford Wright. He married his beautiful bride of almost 67 years, Mary Culver Wright on September 30, 1955. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart Award on January 19, 1953. Retired from Inmont, and in 2003 he moved from Detroit to Bell Buckle, and became a faithful member of Blankenship Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Wright and son in law, Jerome Graczyk.

Survivors include his wife, Mary G. Wright, of Bell Buckle; children, Richard D. Wright, and his wife Carol of Kentucky, Douglas E. Wright, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Larry N. Wright, and his wife Cindy, of Bell Buckle, Cynthia Wright-Graczyk, of Bell Buckle, Tracy L. Wright, and his wife Colleen, of Westland, Michigan, and daughter-in-law Ruth Wright;  grandchildren, Tina Burke, and her husband Scott, Tami Pitale, and her husband Dylan, Dina Mooneyhan, and her husband Tommy, Tanya Greer, and her husband Chris, Daniel Wright, and his wife Linda, Jonathan Wright, Lisa Wolf, and her husband Curtis, Ryan Wright, and his wife Gretchen, Loren Wright, and his wife Sari, Wendy Stewart, and her husband Matt, Kanyon Wright, Chandler Wright, Corey Wright, and Tracy Moreno; 25 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

He has lived a long and blessed life.
