Edward Markarian, age 85, March 30, 2013. He was the son of Aram and Mary (Rasian) Markarian. After he graduated from Southwestern High School, he served him country as a Seaman in the Merchant Marines.
A self-motivated man with a sense of humor, Edward was involved in several businesses, where his mechanical inclinations and abilities were best suited. He was noted as a mister-fix-it and for his versatility from intricate watch repairs to working with all types of machinery. At one point he was a supervisor at Johnson & Johnson; He became a co-owner of Accurate Tool & Die; Edward owned his own service station on Fort Street; And , finally he was a custodian in the Livonia Public Schools, from where he retired.
He married Wanda Sue Cate in 1961 and raised a family, becoming a father and grandfather. Setting an example, he showed how a strong-willed person could be generous too. He was always first to incorporate new technologies in his life and shared his wisdom with others, with an "always right" attitued. He could also be counted on to be available to help when needed.
Edward accepted Christ as his savior, and he lead a colorful life. He loved horses and went to the track. Near the end of his life, he was happy and enjoyed living in Las Vegas.
Visitation Thursday 3-9pm with a 6:30pm evening service. In state Friday 10:00am at St. Sarkis Armenian Church, 19300 Ford Rd., (East of Evergreen)Dearborn until an 11:00am Funeral Service.
