Obituary

Age 69

Hadi passed away on May 29, 2024, at 11:34 am after a long, hard-fought battle with leukemia. Hadi was born on February 20, 1955, in the small Algerian village of Tabouda, located in a Berber region of the Atlas Mountains ("Kabylie"). He is the son of Belaïd and the late Zahra Boudjemai.

Following the completion of his secondary education in Algeria, Hadi was awarded an academic scholarship to attend university studies in the United States. He successfully earned a master's degree in electrical engineering, and retired in 2021 after 35 years of working with various large organizations across many different countries, continents and industries.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nadia, his daughter Taos, and his son Adam. In addition to his father, he is survived by his younger brother Larbi and three younger sisters, Djouhar, Flora and Ourdia.

We wish Hadi's soul a safe journey to heaven, where he will be reunited with his late mother Zahra and late elder brother Ramdane, who departed this world far too early during the difficult COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.

Hadi was full of life and enjoyed traveling, reading, playing tennis with his wife, marathon running, fitness training, and discovering what makes us human. He believed that humanity thrives when celebrating the rich diversity of its people and focusing on our shared goals of peace and harmony for all.  Hadi had a vast circle of friends from around the globe and always relished the opportunity to meet new individuals, eager to learn from their own unique backgrounds and experiences.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  May he forever rest in peace.
