It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest "Ernie" Harry Myshock, who departed this life on July 21, 2026, at the age of 90, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's/dementia. Ernie was born on August 8, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, to his loving parents, Wanda (Stesiak) and Harry Myshock.

Ernie lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Bernadette "Bernie" (Glaza) Myshock, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a beautiful family, raising five children: David (Kerri), Randy (Lisa), Sharon Wright, Kenney, and Kevin (Jillian). Ernie's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Chrissy (JT), Tommy (Samantha), Jonny (Shannon), Kelley Kosmider, and Kevin Kosmider, as well as his three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, and Aidan.

Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Wanda and Harry, and his sister, Margaret, and her husband Jack Blaser, as well as his in-laws Sylvester and Bertha Glaza; son-in-law Dr. Rod Wright and nephew Gregg (Roxanne) Blaser. He is survived by his sister-in-laws Florine Davis and Sister Rosanne Glaza, nephew Michael Strugala, and niece Debbie (Robert) Rama; as well as nephews Gary (Leanne) and Scott Blaser and niece Jackie Blaser, who will all miss him dearly.

Ernie attended Chadsy High School and served his country with honor in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960, and again in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, where he served as a Military Policeman. Professionally, Ernie dedicated over 30 years as a specifications analyst at Cadillac Motor on Clark Street in Detroit; he retired from in 1986.

Ernie was a man of faith and an active member of St. (Raphael) Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Garden City. His sense of community extended beyond the church, as he also found joy in coaching his children in baseball and softball. Known for his ability to talk with anyone, Ernie's life was rich with stories and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him.

A man of many interests, Ernie enjoyed horse racing and playing the daily three and four-digit lottery, carefully tracking numbers in hopes of a win. He shared his love of automobiles with his sons David and Randy. He also loved spending time in the serene beauty of the East Tawas area, where he found peace and pleasure in boating.

Ernie's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan, for their compassionate care during his final days.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 beginning at 2:00 pm at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home located at 1139 N. Inkster Road, Garden City, Michigan. Rosary service will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will conclude visitation. A service to celebrate Ernie's life will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, where his final viewing will be at 10:30 a.m. and the mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. (Raphael) Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 31530 Beechwood Ave., Garden City, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Ernie's memory to Angela Hospice at 14100 Newburgh Road, Livonia, Michigan, 48154.

As we say goodbye to Ernie, we remember a man whose life was a testament to the virtues of kindness, love, and resilience. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
