Errol Thomas Lewis was born February 10, 1939 in the city of Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of Elmer Marion Lewis and Mabel Mae Morrison Lewis. Also he was the grandson of Isaac Marion Lewis and Hattie Cooper, and Thomas Andrew Morrison and Ferby Mae Sutterfield. Errol passed away on May 28, 2021. He married Barbara Ann Pydlek in 1958, and from this union two daughters were born, Charlene Lynn Nelson and Lorry Mae Lewis. Both daughters are presently living in Florida. Errol worked for the Dearborn Heights Fire Department for more than 34 years. He retired in 1995, and the last ten years he served as Chief of Department. Errol enjoyed genealogy and was well known in the Sutterfield and Morrison community. He participated in this hobby for more than 40 years, and published two books. He was preceded in death by his parents. Errol was survived by his daughters, his sister Barbara (William) Cary, and his nieces, Susan and Jennifer.

Visitation Monday 3-7pm with the Funeral Service Tuesday 1pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Road, Garden City (Between Ford Road and Cherry Hill). Burial will be held at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Dearborn Heights Fire Department.

To those attending visitation and or services at the funeral home for a loved one, in keeping with the CDC and State of Michigan DHHS guidelines, masks for those not vaccinated and social distancing along with limitations in number of person(s) in the visitation room and chapel must be followed and will be enforced. We are not able to have food in the funeral home at this time.
