Ferdinand Alphonse Barrette passed away peacefully on May 31, 2020 at the age of 96. Devoted and loving husband of 74 years to Violet. Cherished father of Lawrence (Tamara) Barrette, Cynthia (Tony) Ortega, Gregory (Therese) Barrette and Kenneth (Patti) Barrette. Grandfather to 9 beautiful Grandchildren, Dana , Jennifer (Rob Keller), Amy (Dave Wright), Marc (Chrissy), Tara (Rob Secco), Lisa (Erick Schroeder), Alexandra, Michael and Jena. Great Grandfather to Samantha, Mackenzie, Caroline, Madelyn, Annabelle, Max, Cecilia, Nolan, Adam, James, Avori, Sophia, Ella, Gavin and Claire.

He was born on August 2, 1923 in Belle River, Ontario. The first boy of four, born to Zephire and Lea Barrette. He moved to Dearborn Heights, Michigan in 1950. He worked for Union 76 Oil for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ferdinand was preceded in death by his two sons, Gregory and Kenneth and his brothers, Gerald, Luc and Paul. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. There will be a Mass at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3965 Merrick Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48125 on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, 18303 Allen Road, Brownstown Township, Michigan 48193.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ferdinand A. Barrette can be made to The Atypical HUS Foundation through NORD (The National Organization for Rare Disorders).
