Florence, daughter of Michael and Margaret Chopko was born on April 9, 1924 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
She met the love of her life, Leo Aniol while attending Coughlin High School. Florence and Leo were married on June 6 th , 1946 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. They moved to Michigan shortly afterward.
Flo was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Dearborn Heights, MI. She was a member of the church choir and she worked at Bingo along with her husband Leo. She served Christ as a lector, a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a great storyteller so she volunteered at the Elementary school to read to the children in her own unique style. She also had a special talent when it came to fundraising and selling raffle tickets.
Florence enjoyed her TOPS group and was extremely proud when she reached her weight loss goal. Flo achieved her Keep Off Pounds Sensibly status and constantly reminded everyone that she was a KOP.
Florence is preceded in death by her husband Leo John, her son David Anthony and her grandson Kevin Boyer. Also by her sister Marie (Cyril) Jascur and her twin brother Michael (Roseann) Chopko. Florence was also preceded in death by her husband's brothers; Joseph (Mildred) Aniol, Irvin Aniol and Richard (Claudia) Aniol.
She is survived by her children, Leo (Laura) Aniol, Monica (Craig) Hamilton, Laura (Vito) Manzari and Ann (Mark) Stewart. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Leo (Serena) Aniol, Christina (Michael) Lankford, Patricia (Jason) Allen, Marc (Laura) Aniol, Shawn (Patrick) Thomas, Dyan (Nathan) Biringer, Brandon Aniol, Caitlin (Brandon) Drewior, Jason Aniol, Brittany Aniol, Eric Boyer, Francesco Manzari, Maria (Luke) LaRoy, Kristen (James) Raymo and Nicole Stewart.
She had many great grandchildren and step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and wonderful friends.
Flo lived a full life and died at age 96 on March 16, 2021.
Visitation Thursday 2pm-7pm with a 6 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City. In state Friday 9:30am until the 10 am Funeral Service at St. Maria Goretti in Dearborn Heights. (previously St. Sebastian).
