FRANK LOUIS MATTIS (94) born October 7, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, son of Frank T. Mattis and Mary (Millon).  Frank served in WWII as an Army Tech-Sgt. from 1945-1946.  He married Florence Briolat of Ubly, Michigan on February 9, 1948.   He graduated from U of D College with a BS-Finance Degree in 1951.  Frank worked in finance and purchasing at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years at the Rouge Engine Plant, Ford Tractor in Highland Park and Troy, and Ford Air and Sea Pak.  He was a great dancer, bowler, and ballplayer, transitioning to golf, which he loved.  Frank and Flo spent many years traveling with friends and golfing until he was the age of 92.

Frank was an active member of St. Linus Parish in Dearborn Heights for 60 years - as an usher, in the Men's Club and Knights of Columbus. He faithfully practiced his Catholicism, deeply loved his family, and wholeheartedly treasured his friends.  All were very important to him.

Frank is survived by Florence, his wife of 73 years; his children David (Lorraine), Diane (Dennis) Droba, Lynn (Richard) Kocan, and Jim (Mary); grandchildren Christine (Andy) Deacon, Kimberly Kocan, Jessica (Joel) Carolan, Michael (Heather) Mattis, Paul (Kori) Mattis, Justin (Mel) Droba, and Neil (Amanda) Kocan; great-grandchildren Danny, Alex, Nick, and Luke Deacon.  He was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Quinn.

In state Monday, September 6 ^th , 4pm – 7pm with a 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Rd, Garden City. In state Tuesday, September 7 ^th 10:30am until the 11 am Funeral Mass at St. Kateri Catholic Church, 16101 Rotunda Dr., Dearborn.

In lieu of sending flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, or any charity of your choice.
