Obituary

Age 104

Beloved wife of the late Nick for 64 wonderful years. Adored and amazing mother of  Karen Friedrich, Aaron, Kathy (Ozzie) Amberg, Gigi (Art) Leib, and the late Claude (Joy). Cherished grandma of Nick (Danielle) Friedrich, Danielle Ramos, Ryan (Megan) Friedrich, Erin (Brian) Nawrocki, Elizabeth (Jason) Nesler, and Stephanie (Jarrod) Champion. Great grandma of Devin, Kayla, Ariana, Alivia, Alyssa, Alana, Charlee, Nellie, Gabbie, Grace, Genevieve, Archie, and Esme. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Genevieve graduated from Western High School at the age of 16.  She completed post graduate studies in Business and worked at several Advertising and Insurance companies.  She met her husband, Nick, on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend in 1955 and they married six months later.  At that time, she left the workplace to become a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, visiting friends, and playing piano.  Her skills included crocheting doilies, embroidery, millinery and sewing, but she especially loved to bake bread and desserts. She made traditional paska bread for holidays and angel food cakes for her grandchildren. In retirement, Nick and Genevieve traveled to many places in the U.S. and Canada and enjoyed many cruises with their children. They were both very active in their Church Retirees group and various other church activities. They were dedicated to each other, and their family was always priority. Genevieve will especially be remembered for her big blue eyes and bright smile.
