Born in the little village of Chorov, Poland, Genia led a happy childhood with her brothers and baby sister along with her loving Tatus' and Mamusia. There they worked to create and enjoy a plentiful orchard and farm. After the Russian invasion in 1939, her family was transported to Siberia. After their liberation, she studied in Nazareth and received her degree as a teacher. From there Genia travelled to England where she met her beloved George and they were engaged. Shortly after, they immigrated to America and were married. Genevieve proudly became an American citizen in 1956 and enjoyed a long career in the banking industry at what is now Comerica Bank. Genia travelled the world over with George. Most notably to Japan, Egypt, Hawai'i, and the Bahamas, she was able to go back to her homeland of Poland with her sister-in-law, Lillian. Genia and George lived an incredibly fulfilling and adventurous life along with their darling schnauzer, pupisz. They delighted in entertaining and exploring the open waters in their boat, the GeGe II. She loved and was equally as adored by her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a great great niece and nephew. She was fortunate enough to live in Florida as well as Michigan, and made many lifelong friends wherever she went.
