Age 97.

Beloved husband of the late Lucille. Loving father of Robert (Jan) and James (Kendra). Cherished grandpa of Robert, Jr. (Rachel), Kevin (Stephanie), Deborah (Jared), Lauren (the late Kevin), Ashley (Chad), and Rachel (Michael). Adored great grandpa of 14. Treasured son of the late George Henry and Bertha England. Dear brother of the late Earl, Roy, Ronald and Lucille.

George enjoyed music, playing saxophone and singing in The Templetones Quartet for many years. He was drafted into the U.S. Army when he was 19 years of age. During World War Two, George had 32 months of active duty. After the war he married Lucille Peterson who he had already admired for years earlier. The nick-name of 'Joe' was given to him by his sister, Lucille and has "stuck" all these years. George was saved when he was 15 years old through the compassion of the Lord sending two men from Temple Baptist Church to the home on Twelfth Street during a time of serious illness.
