George O'Brady, 65, of Garden City, MI passed away surrounded by family on August 31st, 2023. He was born on April 22nd, 1958, to the late Michael and Alice (Mummery) O'Brady. He was the cherished brother of Alice (the late Gord) Mackay, Shirley (the late Gary) Maurstad, Carol (Carlo) Patrick, and Michael (Dulce) O'Brady. The loved father of Jason (Liz) O'Brady, Kyle O'Brady, Kellyn (Charles) Chapman, and Keegan O'Brady. The cherished Papa G to his grandchildren Joel, Delilah, and Elias.

George was born in Scarborough, Ontario where he graduated from Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute. He relocated to Garden City, MI in the mid-1990s and remained in the surrounding area until his passing. He spent most of his working life with DuPont and Akzo Nobel Coatings until his retirement in the late 2000s.

Everyone who knew George knew he was the life of a party. He always had a joke or party trick waiting to make the crowd smile. You did not easily forget George once you met him.

He relished in the opportunity to entertain and cook for a crowd. Everyone who ate with George heard the phrase, "I'm a pretty good cook if I do say so myself." And he did.

George also welcomed any opportunity to be out on the golf course. He has helped coordinate an annual golf outing for friends for over 40 years. He passed down the love of the sport to some of his children and was able to get a few rounds in with them before his passing.

He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. The family is planning to hold a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
