Age 68

Beloved husband of Patti for 36 years. Loving dad of Steven (Laura), and David. Cherished grandpa of Landon, Hayden, and Nolan. Dear brother of Kathy (Garry) Long, and Karen (Chuck) Purvis. He was very dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends.

"Greg cherished his family and if he loved you, you were family.  His devotion to family started at an early age when he needed to step up and be the man of the family for his mother and two younger sisters, which he did without hesitation.  When he found the love of his life and had his two sons, being a caring husband and father was second nature.

The devotion carried over to his many other families – the Red Wing For'em Club, the National Hockey League Booster Club, the hockey teams he played on or coached, and the Knights of Columbus.

His favorite pastimes were watching sports and rooting for his favorite teams, the Red Wings, Michigan State, Central Michigan, and any team his sons played on.

He loved going on all-inclusive tropical vacations and a yearly trip to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.  He was happy anytime he could be by or in a pool holding up the sides with his trademark Miller Lite in hand."

Visitation Thursday 5 pm - 8pm and Friday 1 pm until the 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society.
