Hannelore LaFollette (nee: Hartmann) of Garden City passed away at her home that she loved. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving mother of Ronald (Lil), Thomas (Diane), Byron, John, Renee (Joe) LaFollette-Archer and Rochelle (Mark) Smola. Grandmother of 8. Great grandmother of 6. Sister of Margot Hartmann-Acat and Renate Schimmer.

Hannelore was born in Mannheim, Germany on May 24, 1935. She met her husband, Robert, in 1951 while he was stationed there in the Army. They married in 1953 and moved to the United States. Hannelore taught herself the language and became a US citizen. She went on to raise six children. She loved children and continued caring for other children throughout her life. She was sometimes known as Mommy Hanna. She was also known for her good cooking and Christmas baking. You were sure to have a good time when you were with her. When Robert retired, they enjoyed travel, especially returning to Germany to visit family.

Family suggests memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
