BAKER, HAROLD LEROY. Age 82; of Dearborn; passed away April 18, 2013 at home. He was born December 6, 1930 in Hudson, MI, the youngest of four children. His siblings were James, Gerald and Janice. He was born to Garrett and Mary Belle Baker of Clayton, MI. He was married to his wife Doris Marguerite (Grof) for the past 60 years. They have four children; Byron of Dearborn, Lyle (DE) of Berrien Springs, Cheryl ("Mike" Ballinger) Baker of Ogden, Utah and Joy Baker (Allen) of Romulus. He is survived by eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Harold enjoyed his life on the farm and carried his love of the land and animals into his classroom. He taught science classes for 38 years in the Cherry Hill/ Wayne-Westland Schools. He also devoted 12 additional years teaching drivers training in the Trenton area. He enjoyed many adventurous journeys throughout the U.S. and over 20 countries. Visitation Sunday 11:30AM to 6PM at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home 2640 Monroe (near W. Outer Dr.), Dearborn. Instate Monday at First United Methodist Church (Mason and Garrison) 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30AM. Internment will be Monday in Ridgeway, MI (near Tecumseh) at 2:30 PM with a short prayer by John Dick. Donations may be made to Gideons International (P.O. Box 2145, Dearborn, MI 48123) or the Education Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church of Dearborn (22124 Garrison, Dearborn, MI 48124).
