Hattie Grace English, of Inkster, MI passed away peacefully June 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, learning, and adventure.

Born in North Versailles, Pennsylvania, Grace pursued her passion for education early in life, attending Cheyney State University and later earning her master's degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. She dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as a fourth grade teacher at Cory and Hayti Elementary Schools in Romulus, MI, where she made a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.

Following her retirement, Grace embraced her love of travel, ultimately visiting six of the world's seven continents. Whether exploring new cultures or curling up with a good book, she approached life with curiosity and joy. She was also a devoted fan of the Investigation Discovery channel and never passed up a good mystery.

Grace will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and quiet strength. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Loving mother of Matthew, Martin (Michelle), Marc, and special daughter Carmen (Roy). Adored grandma of Nicholas, Matthew Quintin, Leiya, Megan (Jared), and Martin II (Kazmi). Cherished great grandma of Evan and Austin. Sister of the late Venice, James, William, Sheila, Calvin, Harry, Charles, Mark, and Ray. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the United Negro College Fund .

Visitation is Saturday, June 28th at 12pm until the 1 pm Funeral Service at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.
