Ida was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her first job in high school was working as a waitress at the Sanders soda fountain counter and it was here that she developed a lifelong love for their famous ice cream. While raising her family, Ida was employed at the Wyoming Clinic as Medical Secretary to the Director, a position she held until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, often visiting her children and grandchildren throughout the U.S. and abroad. Ida was an independent yet humble woman who led by example, encouraging her children to pursue their goals. She was a dedicated, founding member of St. Linus Catholic Church where she devoted much of her time to Parish endeavors, including the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Ida will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, her strength of character and her courage in the face of adversity. She will forever be a source of comfort, wisdom and joy to her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St Vincent DePaul Society where Ida was a faithful member for many years.
The family would like to thank Woodhaven Retirement Community and Angela Hospice for their care and dedication.
