Age 91

Beloved wife of the late Gicu and daughter of Gheorghe and Marta. Mother of Adriana (David) Cook and the late Mircea. Grandmother of David, Christopher, Marcus, and Jonathan Cook, as well as the late David John, and Alexander John Cook. Sister of Maria and the late Valerica, Cornelia, and Lucretia. Ileana came to America in April of 1987 after the great loss of her first grandchild, David John. Before she came to America, she worked as a seamstress at the Fagaras Corporation for over 25 years. While in America, she started new careers working various jobs at Farmer Jack Bakery, Ford Motor (indirect), and at the Mayflower hotel for over 25 years. At the Mayflower she baked, cooked, cleaned, and anything she could do to contribute to the wealth of her beloved workplace in the city when she lived and loved. People loved her for who she was, her giving nature, tender loving heart, and hard work. She never came home to her family empty handed. When the Mayflower closed, she started working at E.G. Nick's of Downtown Plymouth where she was able to open the door for all her grandchildren (and some of their friends) to work there as well. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul for almost 36 years and made the Coliva for the deceased. She was involved in the Ladies Auxillary by cooking, baking, and cleaning. She will be missed dearly by all. Her family will miss her unconditional love.

Visitation is Wednesday 3-7pm followed by Saracusta at 7pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service Thursday 9:30am at Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Orthodox Church.
