James New passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia on September 14, 2025, while watching the Lions game.

Husband of 30 years to his wife Maureen New, father to his daughter Tiffany (Nicholas) McCabe. He is also survived by his brother Richard New, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Richard New, his mother, Helen New, and his sister, Christine Duvall.

Jimmy was an ardent Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan who rarely missed watching a game.

Mass of Christian burial is on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00am at Divine Child Church, 1055 North Silvery Lane, Dearborn, Michigan 48128.
