We mournfully announce the passing of our dear brother James Robert Pawlicki II, 70, of Detroit, Michigan. James passed away on August 2, 2023, after suffering a sudden heart attack and succumbing to the disease.

James was born to James Robert and Maria Cristina (D'Uva) Pawlicki on July 26, 1953. James was driven from the get-go, graduating from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1971 and Michigan State University in 1976; he pursued and was awarded a degree in zoology.
While at college, James studied mixology which launched his career in the food and beverage industry. James had a diverse career in fine dining, working for some of the most notable establishments in the Detroit, Chicago and Milwaukee areas over 44 years.

James had a love for the arts especially music and theater. As well as being a talented musician, Jim also enjoyed writing, photography and reviewing the latest movies. While James never married, he lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. His nephews and nieces meant more to him than words can describe.

James was the oldest of five. He is survived by his siblings John and Barb (Pawlicki) Farrugia, Harold and Chris (Pawlicki) Farrugia and Dan and Kim Pawlicki. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Maria and his sister Mary L. Pawlicki. We will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Instate 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m.
