Janet I. Lucyk (nee Shinske) age 74 Passed away February 22, 2011 in Garden City.

Born in Detroit, Michigan September 19, 1936 to Frank & Irene Shinske. Her siblings included Phyllis, Dorthy, Richard, Ruth, Frank (Judy) & Arlene (Dave). She attended Chadsey High School. Janet married Jerry Lucyk and raised four children; Jeff, Randy, Sheryl, & David and was employed by Burlington Air Express as a secretary. She enjoyed her family and considered her children to be her biggest achievement. Traveling, crossword puzzles, computer games and the casino were among other things she truly enjoyed. She was a board member on her condo association. The saddest and most disappointing time in Janet's life was the loss of her husband, Jerry, at a young age.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Shari), Randy (Cathy), Sheryl (Geoff) Connor & David (Shari) and grandchildren, Brent (Miranda), Eric, Carissa (Taylor) Smith, Garett and Taryn. Janet is also survived by her siblings
Phyllis Zakalowski, Dorothy Badynee, Ruth Fix, Richard (Karen) Shinske, Frank (Judy) Shinske and Arlene (Dave) Eden.

Visitation Thursday 5-9pm and Friday 1-9pm with a 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., (between Ford Road and Cherry Hill). In state Saturday 10am until 10:30 am Mass St. Michael Catholic Church, 11441 Hubbard at Plymouth Rd.
