Janice Ann Thibodeau, age 82, of Garden City, Michigan passed away December 14, 2022 after a brief, difficult battle with cancer. She passed away in her own home with her family nearby, as was one of her final wishes.

Jan (nee: Allam) is survived by her sons, Deacon James (Jennifer), Christopher (Patti), Michael, Timothy (Elsie) and Fr. Scott. To her grandchildren, Anthony, Ian, Monica, Brandon, Sara, Nicolette, Michael, Christian, Nicholas and Abigail, she was and will forever be known as Sitty. She was preceded in death by parents, James "Najeeb" and Sophia (nee: Geha), brothers, Joseph (Catherine) and Donald, and her loving husband, Thomas.

She leaves a slew of Lebanese recipes behind that her children and grandchildren can only hope to make at least half as good as she had. She's forever remembered as a matriarch, coach, gardener, collector, storyteller, friend and, most often, cook. Her dining room table was the most comforting place on earth for many, many people. Jan is eternally loved.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., Garden City 48135. On Monday she will be in state at 10 am until the 11am Funeral Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 7685 Grandville Ave, Detroit, MI 48228
