Age 87, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Bharatkumar, devoted mother of Rajiv and Binit (Angela) and loving grandmother of Amit, Aakash, Armaan, Shivani, and Amar. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jaydevi was born in Gondal, India and spent her formative years in Bombay first attending The J B Petit High School for Girls and later Jai Hind College where she met Bharat. She arrived in Detroit in 1960 where they married and started on their journey filled with many cherished friendships.  Jaydevi was regarded as a pioneer in bringing Indian culture to the metropolitan Detroit area and remained deeply involved in dance, food and the arts for decades, handing down her passion to the next generation.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be from 11am to 1pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Road, Garden City (between Ford Road and Cherry Hill). In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mai Family Services. www.maifs.org/donate/
