Age 91

From Garden City, passed away on Sunday. She was born January 12, 1927 in Detroit, and grew up there and in Capac; following her marriage to Shirley L. Hurst, she moved back to Detroit and then to Garden City.

Beloved wife of the late Shirley L. for 50 years. Dear mother of Claudia (Robert) Stover, Diane (David) Hollowell and Carol Hurst. Loving grandmother of Nathan (Jeana) Hurst, Alexis Hollowell, Alexander Hurst, James (Eliza) Stover, and Audrey Stover and great grandmother of Paige Stover, Kailyn Hurst, Wyatt Hurst, James Robert Stover, and Wesley Stover.  Daughter of the late Rachel and Anton Friedsberg, and sister of Robert Friedsberg and the late Ruth McCleary, Arthur Friedsberg, Allan Friedsberg, Gloria Seaton, and June (Smith) Jamison. . She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

Jean retired as a cafeteria manager after 22 years with Garden City Public Schools. She enjoyed camping, reading, sewing, baking and crossword puzzles. Jean was a longstanding member of Garden City Presbyterian Church.

She spent her final days in the loving care of those at Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan.

The memorial service will be held on July 21, 2018 at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd, Garden City, MI. Visitation will be from 10 - 12, with the memorial at 12 noon. The Reverend Ruthanne Herrington of Garden City Presbyterian Church will preside.
