Beloved wife of the late James for 53 years. Loving mother of Tracy Hardy, Lisa Wehling, and James (Pamela). Grandmother of Natalie, and Caroline. Sister of Michael (Eileen) Rogala.
Jean Wehling was born on March 12, 1938 to Paul and Stella Daneff. She grew up in Detroit and Dearborn with her mom and stepdad, Edward Rogala and her sister, Sophie and brother, Mike. She met her future husband, Jim when they both worked at Ford Motor Company. They were married in 1965 and made their home in Garden City. They raised 3 children: Tracy, Lisa and Jimmy and were married for 53 years until Jim's passing in 2019.
Jean enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading and in retirement a love of traveling. Jean and Jim spent winters in Florida in their retirement years and Jean enjoyed many other travel adventures with family.
A role that she cherished was that of nana to her granddaughters Natalie and Caroline. She was was a doting nana and one their biggest fans. She was always there to support and encourage them and loved them dearly.
She was a fun loving, generous and caring soul. She was a loving wife, mother, nana and aunt who touched many lives. She will be missed by those who knew her.
Visitation Thursday 2 pm – 8 pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City. In state Friday 10:30am until the 11am Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 31530 Beechwood, Garden City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Henry Ford Hospice or Penrickton Center for the Blind.
