Age 60
Jeri Ann Webster was a wonderful woman that was loved, is sorely missed and will always be cherished. She was a kind and gentle woman who loved spending time with family and friends. She passed away in her home on October 19, 2018. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and dear friend to many.
Jeri was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 22, 1958 to Wanda Stephenson and the late Jerry Woodard. She was raised in Maywood and Elgin and had five siblings: Willanda, Julia, Rick, Jermaine and Mia. Jeri also had a bonus dad who preceded her in death, Richard Glover. She was also loved by her bonus mom, Shirley Woodard.
Jeri graduated from Elgin High school in 1976. She was a cheerleader for the Elgin Maroons, where she met many life-long friends. She went on to continue her education at Western University, where she studied Accounting.
In July 1982, Jeri married her life partner, Louis Webster. To this union, two children were born, Karissa Joi and Amber Nicole. Jeri's girls were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of her spirit and her kindness will live on through them.
Jeri worked for the Wayne-Westland Community School District for over 20 years. She loved working with children and also made many friends throughout the district.
While she certainly had a passion for education, her most cherished job title was, "Nana". Jeri loved spending time with her grandsons Jaidan, Jordan and Jonathon. She made sure to always have sweets readily available for her "little loves".
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Karissa (Jonathon) Singleton and Amber Webster; her grandchildren Jaidan, Jordan and Jonathon Singleton; her mother Wanda Glover; her sisters Julia (Rick) Woodard, Willanda (Farid) Topps-Stephenson, Mia Brown and her brothers Rick Glover and Jermaine Woodard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"-Matthew 5:4.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
