Joan Flatt was born on March 18, 1943, in Huntington, West Virginia. As a toddler, she moved with her parents, John and Gladys Donica, to Livonia, Michigan, where she grew up and later made Garden City her home.

Joan found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time in her yard tending to her flowers, crafting, preserving special memories, and being around her cat, Paris and with friends and neighbors. If you knew Joan, she would talk your ear off. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.

She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Ramsey and Amy Baker (Dwayne); her brother, Gregory Donica; and her five grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, Brooke, Lilly, and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Donica; her brother, Johnny Donica; and her son-in-law, Jason Ramsey.

Joan will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. The memories she created, the conversations she shared, and the love she gave to those around her will live on in the hearts of her friends and family.
